The A4U PID Control Block provides a structured and reusable solution for closed-loop process control within PLC-based industrial automation systems. Designed around Proportional, Integral and Derivative control, the block continuously compares the required setpoint with the measured process variable and calculates the appropriate control output to maintain stable and accurate process operation. The block can be applied to a wide range of continuous and batch-process applications, including temperature, pressure, flow, level and speed control. It interfaces with analog process feedback and actuator outputs, making it suitable for applications such as control valves, pumps, motors, heating systems and other continuously regulated equipment. The controller provides configurable Proportional Gain (Kp), Integral Gain (Ki), Derivative Gain (Kd), deadband and minimum and maximum output limits, allowing the control behaviour to be adapted to the requirements of the process. Manual and Automatic operating modes provide flexibility during normal production, commissioning, maintenance and troubleshooting. Integrated diagnostic functions help operators and engineers identify abnormal control conditions, including maximum and minimum output limits, parameter-entry errors, process deviation, integral-related conditions and deadband behaviour. For commissioning and validation, built-in simulation controls allow engineers to test the block using simulated Setpoint, Process Variable, Manual Output and PID tuning parameters. The PID block is also designed for integration with HMI and SCADA systems, giving operators real-time visibility of Setpoint, Process Variable, Actual Input and controller Output. From the operator interface, users can switch between Auto and Manual operation, enable or disable PID control, adjust tuning parameters, define output limits and acknowledge alarms. By combining reusable PLC control logic, configurable tuning, operator controls, diagnostics and simulation within one standardized block, the A4U PID Control Block helps reduce repeated engineering effort and provides a consistent foundation for industrial process-control applications.
Bring consistent closed-loop control into your automation projects with the A4U PID Control Block. Configure proportional, integral and derivative control, operate in Manual or Automatic mode, define deadband and output limits, monitor alarms and integrate with HMI and SCADA systems for real-time process supervision. Designed for applications including temperature, pressure, flow, level and speed regulation, the block provides a reusable and standardized foundation for precise, stable and maintainable industrial process control.
